the caryatids

I went to greece in the end of september. took some photographs but there is something in me that spoils snaps, so most of them were vague and well, frankly, boring. But i was curious to try out a photographic technique used by this artist called David Hockney. Hockney basically challenged the way we view photographs by suffusing them with motion and a vitality that is impossible to get from normal snaps. I tried to follow his example on a much smaller scale at the acropolis. The caryatids are at the acropolis complex in athens. i originally intended to take photographs of the parthenon itself, but due to the fact that the olympic games are going to be held in athens in the year 2004, the entire city including the acropolis is under renovation. Nevertheless, i think its pretty good for a first try.
