moving
I have finally left that people infested hellhole wherein I dwelt all these days and have now moved in to a spacious but quite charmless apartment unit much closer to the lab. Sometimes in the mornings, I see a patient Kookaburra perched on the fence looking with disdainful distaste at the antics of the frantic miner birds. The apartment is so empty that everything still echoes, and the tinny speakers of the laptop quickly fill up the space. I still don't know our neighbours, and given the nature of contemporary suburban living, it will probably take a long time to even get to see them. I hear them though, I hear creaking of doors and all such signs of life all the time.
